Southern Charm Season 11 Episode 17 Recap: Reunion Part 2

Southern Charm - Season 11

Previouslyon theSouthern CharmSeason 11 reunion, Craig seemed to be in a different reality than his co-stars. The reunion wasgross about women, especially when Austen dissed Salley as a "bar rat" and referenced her "body count." At least Andy called out the double standard! Charley disputed Craig's narrative of their relationship, claiming she never told him she wasn't talking to other guys. When Austen called Craig a narcissist, he said that was impossible because he's an empath. As they went to break, Craig muttered that it was a "pile on" and he wasn't sure he'd come back.

Southern Charm reunion Season 11

This week on Southern Charm Season 11 Episode 17 "Reunion Part 2," Venita hashes out her issues with both Craig and Salley. Charley revealsher new relationship, while Craig accuses her of love bombing. Craig continues to talk about leaving the show. Can he change, or does the group need to accept him as is?

Did Craig walk off the Southern Charm Season 11 reunion?

Craig Conover Southern Charm

Last week's cliffhanger turns out to be a false alarm, because Craig returns to the stage after the break. But he's pissed. "You guys have villainized vulnerability … I'm not gonna be vulnerable with you guys anymore," he says backstage. He claims he 'did so well" not freaking out all season until he had one blowup. Once again, he didn't watch the season! Andy appears flabbergasted, but changes course when cameras go back up.

Andy brings upCraig's feud with Venita. We once again see the podcast clip that started this off, and it's … so minor. Venita just said that Craig shouldn't talk like he knows things about Paige if he doesn't. Elsewhere, she accused him of milking the breakup.

But Craig stands by his reaction, repeatedly emphasizing that Venita didn't know him or Paige. He repeatedly accuses her of quoting Reddit, but Venita insists she doesn't look at Reddit. Craig claims he wasn't dragging the breakup out and "was the only one not speaking about it." Craig, youspoke about it constantly…

When a viewer question brings up that Craig saved Venita from drowning last year, Venita says she thanked him many times. But he never made an effort to connect with her during their previous years as co-workers. So, why would she have loyalty to him? "I've always been nice to you," Craig claims. Roll the tapes?

Can Venita and Salley be friends again?

Venita Aspen Southern Charm

They may not be friends, but Craig had a big impact on Venita this season, especially when it came to Salley. When Venita's mom comes up, Salley calls her "my girl," because she took her side. But Venita comments that her mom didn't have the whole story.

Venita admits she came off too aggressive, and apologies to Salley. She thought she was protecting her friend. When Venita says she and Salley are good, the group disagrees. Apparently, they just got into a big fight at Salley's birthday!

Salley accuses Venita of not wanting to share photos, post on social media together, or even be seen in fan photos together. Salley asks if Venita isashamed of being friendswith her. Just like she asked Austen last week. The reunion has me feeling sorry for Salley!

Venita claims this is because people online keep telling her she's stupid for being friends with Salley. The group implores Venita not to let nasty comments get to her this way. Venita gets too emotional to speak clearly, though she tries to stop herself from crying (her makeup is too good…). Venita and Salley miss each other, and Venita never opened up like that to anyone in the cast before. Madison says this is the first time the entire Southern Charm cast are true friends … which surprised me, because this did not feel like a group of friends this season. But I personally hope Salley and Venita can work things out. Madison says Craig and Austen should take notes from Salley and Venita. Craig says to give their friendship six more years.

In other relationship news, Venita confirms herromance with Carlisn't going anywhere. He complained about the distance … to People Magazine, instead of to her personally. Oh Carl!

Revisit Southern Charm Season 11's love triangle

Southern Charm

When asked what drew her to Craig, Salley admits it was literally just his looks. But Craig saw her as a sister. Ouch! He insists texting Salley that she should've stayed over was just him being nice.

Craig also reveals that on one of the hot tub nights, he showed Charley his sewing room and said, "You can kiss me if you want." She didn't! Andy says Craig has less game and is more chaste than Austen or Shep. Craig says he's not the type for casual hookups. If he doesn't really like someone, he'll just go home and "do myself." Whitner has to point out what that sounds like.

Salley insists she didn't buy the chickens for Craig. Austen thinks she did based on how it looked on the show, even though Salley says he knows the whole story.

Salley admits her approach to guys hasn't changed since the season filmed. But she thinks she has a solid foundation with Austen … even if it'sjust a friendship. She gushes that he'll make a great husband and dad someday.

She maintains Charley kept her interest in Craig a secret, secretly texting himoutside of the "cult"/group chat. This was a massive shift in their friendship because Charley usually told her everything about every guy. But Madison points out they weren't friends that long. And that everyone should stop throwing "best friend" around.

Did Charley love bomb Craig?

Southern Charm

Charley plays coy about her current boyfriend's identity, but Salley reveals he'sJustin from Southern Hospitality. Craig says Austen broke the news to him. Charley continues to deny telling Craig she wasn't speaking to other guys. She reminds him they went on two dates. But he says she would constantly FaceTime him, and accuses her of love bombing. He also once again blames Salley for things going wrong.

Charley denies love bombing and says she made it clear her feelings changed after Craig's Mexico freakout. Craig insists it wasn't Mexico, and he was "perfect" before that. Charley gets frustrated that he's trying to tellherhowshefeels. Backstage, she admits to Salley she had one foot out in Mexico, and the van meltdown made her stop liking him. When she returns to stage, Craig tells her it's "unfair" to blame the Mexico incident.

Speaking of Mexico, Venita admits she poked at Craig with her wish for Austen to stand up for himself. Regarding his disgusting "you don't exist in my world" response, Craig knows what to say that will hurt a person the most (a skill Shep shares). Craig admits he should've talked to Venita one-on-one instead. Is this … accountability? From Craig? Well, he then says the van was his first mess-up in two years, so, not completely.

Will Craig leave Southern Charm?

Southern Charm

Shep feels for Craig because ofhis own drunken outbursts. Madison says if she were in the van, she'd calm Craig down. Craig blames it on drinking, saying he didn't eat for hours. But there's footage of him eating throughout the day. Andy doesn't want anyone to think production doesn't feed them! The others point out that they also had that much to drink, and didn't freak out.

While Craig blames it on the alcohol, Rodrigo suggests his real problem is rage. Molly encourages him to consider anger management. Austen points out all the other times this season that Craig yelledbeforethe van. He's not sure Craig's apologies mean anything. Whitner feels like Craig alwayssayshe's working on himself, but doesn't actually do it.

Madison says they need to just accept him how he is. "Accept what, that our friend's an assh*le?" asks Austen. Craig suggests he should justleave Southern Charmif that cast feels that way.

Eventually, he admits that he felt rejected by Charley, and that curdled into anger. Craig says he'll redirect to discuss anger issues with his therapist, claiming they never have before. I was waiting for someone to ask if this is ahuman therapist or ChatGPT.

As for the rest of the cast, Rodrigo plans to wed Tyler. He'd pick Madison to officiate. Venita says Molly could sing. Speaking of, Molly hopes to do more songwriting and perform her original songs. To end the reunion on a positive note, Molly and the cast sing happy birthday to Charley. And Shep bids adieu to Season 11 with one final toast.

Southern Charmis available to stream on Peacock.
